It had to happen: iPhone/iPod SDK – Coming February

It’s been a busy week or two for Apple, they’ve said more in these past couple of days than they have since they unveiled the next generation of iPods.

Finally, the bigwigs up in Cupertino have listened. It has been confirmed by Captain Jobs that the iPhone will get a developer SDK by February.

In an open letter on Apple’s site, Steve said:

Third Party Applications on the iPhone

Let me just say it: We want native third party applications on the iPhone, and we plan to have an SDK in developers’ hands in February. We are excited about creating a vibrant third party developer community around the iPhone and enabling hundreds of new applications for our users. With our revolutionary multi-touch interface, powerful hardware and advanced software architecture, we believe we have created the best mobile platform ever for developers.

Notepad for iPod Touch & iChat

Just to let any iPod Touch/iPhone owners out there know, I’m planning to come out with a Notepad app for the iSlates, as well as a geographic chat app.
