Free BETA: My PictureTown, By Nikon

My Pictire Town - Home Screen

 

Newly unveiled by Nikon, My PictureTown is similar to Google’s Picasa, with a few differences. You can upload and download your pictures, and share then via email, or via Flickr.

To upload pictures, hit the ‘Upload’ button. This allows you to choose ‘Quick Upload’, which requires you to install a browser plugin (compatible with Windows XP Internet Explorer 6+, Windows XP Mozilla Firefox, and Mac OS Safari), or use the ‘Single Selection Upload’, which allows you to browse for, and upload up to 10 files, and add them to an Album or add tags. Only JPEG and MOV files are supported.

So, you’re at a party, there’s food, drink, and it’s a great party, but you’re stuck in the crowd! You need a way to stand out - look no further than the Wi-Fi Detector T-Shirt!

A fantastic idea, this shirt is powered by a bulky battery pack that you have to keep in your pocket, and it runs on 3 AAA batteries - not so fantastic. And you can’t tell it to just detect open Wi-Fi spots, either.

The antenna on the front lights up when you turn it on, and the bands around it will light up, telling the signal strength.

TheGrahamBaileyBlog Goes To The Gadget Show

Today I headed over to an exciting studio in Birmingham to check out the latest stocking fillers for Christmas. I was there as a part of a focus group, mainly to check out the gadgets they had hauled together, and to interview the stars of The Gadget Show. We were herded into the studio, and moved swiftly into shooting (after some discussions).

Each of the presenters had got hold of a stocking of gadgets to the value of £50.

First went Jason, with a remote-control two player football game that was great in concept, but needed a little thought as there were too many problems (the setup was fiddly, and it was too hard to use). Next, he brought out a USB gaming pad - noting that USB gadgetry is the new black this year - which replaced the keys in a QWERTY keyboard, and was fully programmable - great for FPS gamers.

“http//iphone.” website registrations hit 76, 000+, iPhone fever goes too far?

A Google search for the terms “site:http://iphone.*.com” now returns about 76,400 results, meaning that domains that are iphone-related or iphone-optimized are now being registered as such, this is the phenomenon of the “iPhone.” (as opposed to “www.”).

Which leads me to ask - has iPhone fever gone too far? Every time I pass a technology page on a site, there’s a new iPhone tidbit, advert, news story, and so on.
