Do you love great quality video content, and hate the low quality video that YouTube offers? You’re in luck.

The notion of a High Definition YouTube has been batted about on the internet many a time, with reports of the California-based company planning, cancelling, and testing a higher definition service.

Well, YouTube HD has indeed now arrived, and anyone can access, upload, and view HD content on YouTube.

This is apparently due to a small niche bug in YouTube’s video conversion software.

Right now, uploading a video with these specs:

  • 640 x 480 size
  • An (Audio) framerate of 44100
  • A (Video) framerate of 25 fps
  • A bitrate of 320 kbit/s
  • Video bitrate varies:
    • 2000 kbps for a 1:00 minute video
    • 1000 kbps for a 2:15 minute video
    • 512 kbps for a 4:00 minute video
  • 4:3 Aspect ratio or your chosen ratio (4:3 is for widescreen)
