Do you love great quality video content, and hate the low quality video that YouTube offers? You’re in luck.
The notion of a High Definition YouTube has been batted about on the internet many a time, with reports of the California-based company planning, cancelling, and testing a higher definition service.
Well, YouTube HD has indeed now arrived, and anyone can access, upload, and view HD content on YouTube.
This is apparently due to a small niche bug in YouTube’s video conversion software.
Right now, uploading a video with these specs:
- 640 x 480 size
- An (Audio) framerate of 44100
- A (Video) framerate of 25 fps
- A bitrate of 320 kbit/s
- Video bitrate varies:
- 2000 kbps for a 1:00 minute video
- 1000 kbps for a 2:15 minute video
- 512 kbps for a 4:00 minute video
- 4:3 Aspect ratio or your chosen ratio (4:3 is for widescreen)
Some users have already uploaded examples of YouTube Higher definition content, some examples:
- ‘YouTube HD Upload trick’ - demonstrating that this method has it’s flaws
- ‘Emperor: Battle for Dune Teaser’
