Viruses As Art Bring Back Bad Memories For Make Google, Microsoft

Viral ArtThis really is strange. Artist Alex Dragulescu has used neutralised forms of unpopular viruses such as PWS-Lineage, Stormy, Mytob, IRCBot, Netsky (which will become SkyNet in the future, until the John_Connor patch is released), and MyDoom, which took out Google for several hours back in 2004.

Security firm MessageLabs commissioned the works:

API calls, memory addresses and subroutines are tracked and analyzed. Their frequency, density and grouping are mapped to the inputs of an algorithm that grows a virtual 3D entity.

I don’t know about you, but for me, these images are just creepy, will the next generation of viruses come across in the form of images?

More info, plus more images and links after the jump.

You can check out more images over at Alex Dragulescu’s site.
