Virgle is the partnership between Richard Branson’s Virgin, and Google, that aims to take humanity to Mars - and what’s more, they plan to make the red planet Open Source.

Finnish Minister Nailed For Saucy Texts

In my experience, it’s my opinion that those who text, flirt (I might call that Graham’s First Law - to the patent office!). Finland’s foreign minister has unfortunately discovered that those who flirt, get caught.

Ilkka Kanerva sent about 200 saucy texts to Johanna Tukiainen, an erotic dancer, and unfortunately - you guessed it - got caught.

Others in his political party are now calling for his resign, not helped by the fact that he admitted that the messages were less than kosher:

“I would not present them in Sunday School, but they are not totally out of line either”

Apparently Finnish TV station MTV3 heard from unnamed sources that Kanerva’s party is preparing for his resignation.

I guess the moral of the story here is ‘be seen, but not caught out’.

Blackberry: Quick, Plug The Internet Back In!

BlackberryWhoops. Monday, Research In Motion’s Blackberry service was down all across North America as it’s users were cruelly kicked from the network.

Oddly enough, RIM let it’s bigger clients - no room for the little guy - know about the “critical severity outage” via email (am I the only one who sees the problem there?). In the email, “This is an emergency notification regarding the current BlackBerry Infrastructure outage” said Bryan Simpson, but Simpson did not say when the network would be back, or note a cause.

The outage was only a problem for North American users, and emails were starting to trickle through more than an hour after the notification arrived - if they could read it.
